This page is for recording how MPs voted on planning reform.

The government did not allow MPs a vote on new Permitted Development Rights to:

  • convert shop and industrial units to residential without approval (a policy which 'baffled' the head of the Royal Town and Country Planning Institute).

  • allow upwards extensions of up to two stories on residential properties.
